Installation Instructions
Tools Needed: - Transmission jack - Socket set - Flathead screwdriver - Rubber mallet
1. Ensure the vehicle is securely lifted on a hoist or jack stands, providing clear access to the transmission system.
2. Place the transmission jack under the transmission for support.
3. Drain the transmission fluid by locating and removing the drain plug using the appropriate socket.
4. Carefully remove the transmission pan, and set it aside.
5. Locate the overdrive piston assembly within the transmission.
6. Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry out the old overdrive piston, taking care not to damage any surrounding components.
7. Position the new Genuine OEM Auto Trans Overdrive Piston BC3Z-7A262-G in place, ensuring it seats correctly within the transmission assembly.
8. If necessary, gently tap the edges with a rubber mallet to ensure it's securely in position.
9. Reinstall the transmission pan and tighten it securely.
10. Refill the transmission with the appropriate type and quantity of transmission fluid.
11. Lower the vehicle from the hoist or jack stands and start the engine, letting it run for a few minutes. Test drive to ensure the transmission shifts smoothly into overdrive.
