This lock cable is responsible for connecting the door lock mechanism to the door handle, allowing you to lock and unlock the rear door. Without it, the rear door may not lock or unlock properly or at all, compromising the security of your vehicle.

To install a genuine new rear door lock cable on a 2014-2020 Acura MDX, you can follow these steps:

  1. First, open the rear door on the side where you will be replacing the lock cable.

  2. Locate the lock mechanism inside the door. The lock cable is connected to the mechanism and runs along the interior of the door.

  3. Use a trim removal tool to carefully pry off the door panel on the inside of the door. Start at the bottom of the panel and work your way up, releasing the clips that hold the panel in place.

  4. Once the panel is removed, you should be able to see the lock mechanism and the lock cable. Locate the end of the cable where it connects to the lock mechanism.

  5. Use pliers to carefully disconnect the old lock cable from the lock mechanism. You may need to wiggle it back and forth a bit to release it.

  6. Next, locate the other end of the lock cable, which is connected to the exterior door handle. Carefully remove the clip that holds the cable in place.

  7. With both ends of the cable disconnected, you should be able to remove the old cable from the door.

  8. Take the new genuine lock cable and thread it along the interior of the door, following the path of the old cable.

  9. Connect the new cable to the lock mechanism and the exterior door handle, making sure the connections are secure.

  10. Finally, replace the door panel by aligning it with the clips and pressing it firmly into place.

  11. Test the new lock cable by locking and unlocking the door from the inside and outside.

That's it! Your new genuine rear door lock cable should now be installed and working properly on your Acura MDX.

What can not be returned:

 

Any part that does not have all of the original packaging with the attached manufacturer part number label.

Believe it or not, this is super important! Don't throw away the packaging.  Manufacturers wont accept returns on a part without the genuine OEM Packaging, so we wont be able to credit you. (Even if the part is brand new with no packaging, we would have to return it to you).

 

 

We also cannot accept your return if: 

  • You have installed or attempted to install or disassemble the part
  • You have painted the part.
  • You have broken the part.
  • You have lost the original packaging.
  • You have gotten the part wet, or the part has greasy fingerprints.

 

Electrical Parts.

Electrical parts can only be returned if they have not been installed, programmed, or plugged in. If the part shows signs, of an attempted install we will be unable to accept your return.

 An electrical part is any part that plugs in, contains a switch, sensor, circuit board or electrical wiring.

  1. Make sure you have all the original packaging with part number labels as shown above.

 

  1. Please be sure to put a copy of the receipt or order confirmation email in the box.

 

  1. Go to the post office or UPS Store where you can pay them for the postage directly. We reccomend using UPS. The US postal service is slow and unreliable in our area,

 

Make sure you get a tracking number before you leave the store. Buying insurance is usually a good idea. We cannot be responsible for any return that is lost or damaged in transit.

What Happens Next?

 

Check your tracking number to see when we receive your return.

Once we receive your return we will inspect it and issue a credit to your original payment method usually the same or next business day. We will send you an email or text once the credit has been issued. 

It is important to note that even though we issue the credit, your bank who manages your credit card may hold your refund for up to 7 days before posting it to your account. This is done by your bank, and is standard procedure no matter where you buy from online. You can contact your bank for their policies.

  • Credit will be applied to the same credit card or account used to purchase the part.
