2012-2018 Ford Focus or Fiesta Vehicle Sensor Output Shaft Speed

The Sensor Output Shaft Speed (OSS) is a critical component in the transmission system of your 2012-2018 Ford Focus or Fiesta. It is responsible for measuring the rotational speed of the transmission output shaft, which is used by the vehicle's computer (ECU) to determine the gear ratio and adjust the shifting of the transmission accordingly.

Installation Instructions:

1. Park the vehicle on a flat surface and set the parking brake.
2. Locate the output shaft speed sensor. On the Ford Focus or Fiesta, it is typically located on the top of the transmission.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor by pressing the tab and pulling it away from the sensor.
4. Use a wrench or socket to remove the retaining bolt that holds the sensor in place.
5. Gently remove the sensor from its mounting location.
6. Install the new sensor in the same location, ensuring that it is fully seated and straight.
7. Tighten the retaining bolt securely.
8. Reconnect the electrical connector to the sensor by pushing it in until it clicks into place.
9. Start the vehicle and test the sensor to ensure that it is functioning properly.
