Installation Instructions:

Tools Needed:

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Flat head screwdriver
  1. Open the trunk and locate the latch assembly.
  2. Remove the trim cover over the latch assembly using a flat head screwdriver to pry it off.
  3. Locate the power trunk release cable and follow it to the latch assembly.
  4. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the cable to the latch assembly.
  5. Release the cable from any retaining clips or holders that may be holding it in place.
  6. Trace the cable to the interior of the vehicle, where it connects to the release button.
  7. Locate the release button and remove it from the interior trim panel using a flat head screwdriver to pry it off.
  8. Unclip the old cable from the release button and remove it from the vehicle.
  9. Install the new cable by routing it along the same path as the old cable.
  10. Reconnect the cable to the release button and clip it into place.
  11. Reinstall the release button into the interior trim panel.
  12. Reconnect the cable to the latch assembly and secure it with the Phillips head screw.
  13. Replace the trim cover over the latch assembly, ensuring it snaps securely into place.

The job should take approximately 30 minutes and requires a moderate skill level.
