The Genuine OEM Mazda Clutch Pedal Switch for the 2003-2008 Mazda 6 (Manual Transmission), 2004-2011 Mazda RX-8 (Manual Transmission) and 2006-2014 MX-5 Miata (Manual Transmission) is an essential component in the proper functioning of your vehicle's clutch system. This switch is responsible for signaling the engine control module when the clutch pedal is depressed, allowing the engine to engage or disengage with the transmission.

Installation Instructions:

Important Note: Before beginning the installation process, make sure that the replacement part matches the one being replaced in terms of make, model, and specifications.

Tools Needed:

  • Socket wrench
  • Socket set
  • Phillips head screwdriver

Skill Level: Intermediate

Time Needed: 30-45 minutes

Steps:

  1. Locate the old clutch pedal switch on the vehicle.
  2. Use a socket wrench and socket set to remove the nuts and bolts that secure the old switch to the clutch pedal assembly.
  3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old switch by pressing on the tab and pulling it away from the switch.
  4. Discard the old clutch pedal switch.
  5. Take the new clutch pedal switch and carefully align it with the mounting location on the clutch pedal assembly.
  6. Reconnect the wiring harness to the new switch by pushing it into place until it clicks.
  7. Use a socket wrench and socket set to tighten the nuts and bolts that secure the new switch to the clutch pedal assembly.
  8. Test the new clutch pedal switch by pressing on the clutch pedal and checking that the switch engages and disengages properly.
  9. If necessary, adjust the switch position to ensure proper function.
  10. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to adjust the clutch pedal free play according to the vehicle's owner's manual.
