The latch mechanism on the glove box is one of the most common problems on the 2012-2017 Chevrolet Sonic. The problem is caused by the latch breaking... either at the handle, or at the latch. The result is the door not being able to close, or not being able to open. Stop driving around town with your glove box open, or having hit your passenger's knees every time you hit a bump.
