Installation Instructions
Tools Needed: Wire Cutter, Wire Stripper, Heat Shrink Tubing, Lighter
- Locate the faulty pigtail in your vehicle.
- Using the wire cutter, carefully cut the wires of the old pigtail, leaving as much wire as possible.
- Strip about half an inch of insulation from the ends of the wires in the vehicle and on the new pigtail.
- Join each wire from the new pigtail to its corresponding wire in the vehicle by twisting them together. Make sure that the wire colors match.
- Slide a piece of heat shrink tubing over each connection, then apply heat to the tubing with the lighter until it contracts snugly over the connection.
- Check the operation of the electrical component connected to the pigtail to ensure the installation was successful.
The installation process should take about an hour and requires intermediate technical skills due to the nature of electrical work.
