Installation Instructions:
Tools Needed:
- Socket Set
- Torx bit set
- Pry tool
Skill Level: Intermediate
Installation Time: Approximately 30 minutes
Note: Before starting the installation, ensure that the battery is disconnected to prevent accidental airbag deployment.
- Use a pry tool to carefully remove the plastic trim cover located at the bottom of the front passenger side seat belt buckle.
- Locate the wiring harness connector for the seat belt buckle and disconnect it by pressing down on the locking tab and pulling the connector away from the buckle.
- Use a socket set and Torx bit set to remove the bolts securing the old seat belt buckle to the vehicle.
- Carefully remove the old seat belt buckle from the vehicle.
- Install the new Genuine Ford front passenger side seat belt buckle by aligning it with the mounting points on the vehicle and securing it with bolts.
- Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the back of the new seat belt buckle.
- Reinstall the plastic trim cover at the bottom of the front passenger side seat belt buckle.
It is important to note that this installation requires intermediate-level skills and should not be attempted by individuals with limited automotive knowledge. The job can take approximately 30 minutes to complete, depending on the installer's skill level and familiarity with the vehicle.
