Installation Instructions:
Tools Needed:
- Socket Set
- Torx bit set
- Pry tool
Skill Level: Intermediate
Installation Time: Approximately 1-2 hours
Note: Before starting the installation, ensure that the battery is disconnected to prevent electrical shock or damage.
- Use a pry tool to carefully remove any plastic trim covers that may prevent access to the back up camera wire harness.
- Locate the wiring harness connector for the back up camera and disconnect it by pressing down on the locking tab and pulling the connector away from the harness.
- Use a socket set and Torx bit set to remove any bolts or screws securing the old wire harness to the vehicle.
- Carefully remove the old wire harness from the vehicle.
- Install the new Genuine Ford rear view back up camera wire harness by aligning it with the mounting points on the vehicle and securing it with bolts or screws.
- Reconnect the wiring harness connector to the back of the new wire harness.
- Reinstall any plastic trim covers removed in step 1.
It is important to note that this installation requires intermediate-level skills and should not be attempted by individuals with limited automotive knowledge. The job can take approximately 1-2 hours to complete, depending on the installer's skill level and familiarity with the vehicle.
