Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the retaining clips that hold the old hood lift cylinder in place.

Insert the new hood lift cylinder into the same location as the old one.

Use the flathead screwdriver to attach the new retaining clips to hold the new hood lift cylinder in place.

Repeat these steps for the other side of the hood if necessary.
