- Start by releasing the parking brake.
- Locate the parking brake release cable. This is usually found underneath the vehicle, running from the parking brake pedal to the parking brake mechanism at the rear wheels.
- Use pliers to disconnect the old cable from the parking brake pedal.
- Follow the cable to where it connects to the parking brake mechanism. Use a wrench or screwdriver to disconnect it.
- Install the new Genuine Parking Brake Release Cable 15027138. Start by attaching one end to the parking brake mechanism and the other end to the parking brake pedal.
- Check that the cable is securely connected at both ends.
- Test the function of the parking brake and the release mechanism to ensure the new cable is working correctly.

Electrical parts can only be returned if they have not been installed, programmed, or plugged in. If the part shows signs, of an attempted install we will be unable to accept your return.

Warranty Covers only one replacement in the warranty period. Multiple Replacements are not covered, after one replacement warranty will no longer be in effect.
Warranty Is nontransferable and is only valid for the VIN number of the vehicle for which it was purchased. Warranty does not transfer to the new owner of the item purchased or the vehicle purchased with the item installed.
