Note there are several versions of this part. Call your local GM dealer and give them your VIN to be sure the part number 13518044 is right for you before you order. (Also ask them about programming requirements).
Installation Instructions:
- Locate the restraint control module in the vehicle. It is typically located under the center console or under the driver's seat.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags.
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the restraint control module by pressing the release tab and pulling the connector straight out.
- Remove the restraint control module by unfastening any mounting bolts or clips that may be securing it in place.
- Install the new restraint control module in the same location as the old one, and secure it with any mounting bolts or clips.
- Reconnect the wiring harness to the new restraint control module by pressing the connector straight in until it clicks into place.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Test the new restraint control module by turning on the ignition and making sure that the airbag warning light on the dashboard goes off after a few seconds.
Estimated time: 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the location of the restraint control module and any mounting hardware.
