Installation Instructions:

Replacing the 2003-2009 Toyota 4Runner Glove Box Lock Handle Latch - New Genuine Toyota Part requires the following tools:

  • Phillips head screwdriver

Skill Level: Easy

Step 1: Open the glove box Open the glove box and remove any items inside.

Step 2: Remove the old lock handle latch Using the Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the old lock handle latch to the glove box. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the old latch out of the glove box.

Step 3: Install the new lock handle latch Insert the new lock handle latch into the opening of the glove box and align it with the screw holes. Secure it into place by tightening the screws that you removed in step 2.

Step 4: Test the new lock handle latch Test the new lock handle latch to make sure it is securely in place and that the lock functions properly.

Removing and Replacing the Lock Cylinder:

Step 1: Remove the old lock cylinder Using a small flat head screwdriver, remove the retaining clip located on the side of the lock cylinder. Once the clip is removed, gently pull the lock cylinder out of the handle latch.

Step 2: Install the new lock cylinder Insert the new lock cylinder into the opening in the handle latch and align it with the retaining clip hole. Once the lock cylinder is in place, insert the retaining clip into the hole to secure it.

Step 3: Test the new lock cylinder Test the new lock cylinder to make sure it is securely in place and that the lock functions properly.

Note: If the lock cylinder is damaged and cannot be removed or replaced, it may be necessary to replace the entire handle latch assembly.
