The 2011-2014 Ford F-150 was one of Fords most well built trucks, however there is a really annoying weakness in the Front and rear door wiring harnesses.
The Original Problem
After a few years of flexing upon opening and closing, the wires began to break off at the terminal plug.
When these wires break it can cause issues such as:
- Door Ajar light
- Window Up / Down issues
- Speakers Crackling or not working at all
- Heated seat failures in the rear seats.
This is not a complete list of issues. If you know of more let us know!
The Solution
Luckily the Engineers at Ford wasted not time in making a new improved version of the harness. The new version of the harness is made much better, and is much more resistant to the wires becoming brittle and breaking at the terminals.

For you Techies out there, here is a wiring diagram that shows exactly how this harness interfaces with the BCM.
